Liestal - Chienbäse parade by Mark Sukhija

Liestal - Chienbäse parade

Chienbäse, a Liestal institution, occurs every year with the parading of Chienbäse (torches the guys are holding) through the Old Town. They're heavy and, unsurprisingly, somewhat warm - which necessitates the odd break to rejuvenate. And pour some water down the jackets. Believe it or not, these guys do actually run parts of the route.
