Travel notes from globetrotting type
The S-Bahn trains to Rapperswil regularly depart from Zürich main train station. Both the S5 and S7 depart from platforms 23/24 which is downstairs in the shopping area.
Regular trains, including the Voralpen Express scenic train, arrive from Lucerne and St Gallen.
Rapperswil is a junction point at one end of the Seedamm at the eastern end of Lake Zürich. Trains run between Rapperswil and Pfaeffikon (SZ).
During the summer months, boats depart from Zürich's Bürkliplatz. The Zürichsee Schifffahrtsgesellschaft (ZSG) publishes a time table of the ships both to and from Rapperswil.
