Often overlooked by visitors to Eastern Switzerland, the Benedictine monastry of Einsiedeln is one of the most important places of pilgramage in central Europe. The 150-meter façade, with it's convex doorways, to gives way to an intensly oppulant, almost overwhelming, interior of frescoed cielings and colourful stucco work.
The otherwise unremarkable town is on the Route of St James in Switzerland and within easy reach of both Rapperswil and Zürich
