Picture of the week - Jesuit Church in Lucerne

The Jesuit Church of Lucerne is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful religous buildings in Switzerland. In the Baroque style next to the River Ruess, the Onion-domed church is a clearly identifiable landmark.
The interior, as you can see, is oppulant in the extreme - a typical feature of the Baroque style of architecure. The altar, although apparently made from marble, is actually marble-stucco on wood - the swamp the church was built on would not support a marble alter of this size.
