Henesseys Irish Bar

Review date: 17 October 2006

Henesseys was the first place we came accross in Rotorua that was open. Apart from the Baden Lodge, were we had checked in earlier. In need to something to eat following our long drive up from Taranaki, we popped in. Everything else (and I do mean everything!) was shut. And it was cold.

Anyway, the service was OK, if somewhat disinterested. Practically no-one else in the bar gave an immensly underwhelming sense of atmosphere. The Nachos came in a great big bowl and were more than plenty for two people. The Bangers and Mash 10 Dollar Special (in which a Kiwi beer is included) proved good value even if the meal was unexceptional.

Basically, Henesseys is a very average attempt at a run-of-the-mill Irish Theme pub. At least it's clean and reasonably comforatable. Which is more than can be said for the equivalents in Zurich!
