Anthonys Kitchen

Review date: 21 September 2007

We popped into Anthonys Kitchen for the first time since it opened in Wipkingen, a residential part of Zürich, two years ago.

With only around 25 seats, Anthonys Kitchen is a small which permits Anthony, from Manila in the Phillipines, and his wife Julia to offer highly personalised service with their speciality of Asian and fish-food.

With a menu that changes each day depending upon whats fresh at the market - Anthony did an excellent job of dishing up some delightful Dim Sum, followed by a Tuna Steak for one of us and Tiger Prawns for myself. Both were done excellently. The Tuna was perfectly textured and the prawns still moist having been cooked in their shells. Vegetables were fantastic. Nicely done and lightly drizzled. The rice was fantastic - done to perfection and lightly flavoured.

Phone a day in advance and Anthony can arrange to cook what your heart desires - so long as it's fresh and available at market.

Anthonys Kitchen also runs monthly "as-much-dim-sum-as-you-can-eat" on the first Thursday of each month which are regularly booked out some months in advance. Given the quality of food and service on this visit, it is more than likely that we will give this a go.

Anthony and Julia do an excellent job of offering excellent food and service.
