Iroquois

Review date: 15 July 2007

We popped into Iroquois for luncheon on a scorching Sunday where Zürich was in the high-thirties outside. Consequently, outside seating was available and packed.

M'learned colleague, went for the Breakfast-Burrito which was mighty in it's multi-inch enormity. M'more learn'd colleague went for the Quesadilla Tocina In spite of the Tex-Mex Cuisine, I went for the Steak and Egg.

The Steak and Egg was actually pretty good. The steak was a bit too close to medium for my liking - being medium-rare but I'm sure that suits some. The Egg came on a Rösti base. The salad was lightly dressed and an ample, welcome addition to the dish. Actually quite a splendid meal reassuring in its stodge-salad balance. I'd have it again. But only after I've tried the Breakfast-Burrito.

There is a small set of open red and white wines from which I can recomend the Spanish Syrah - which is fully-bodied and somewhat peppery.

I'll be back.
