Zur Oepfelchammer

I returned to Zur Oepfelchammer in Zürich's Niederdorf for the second time.

Zur Oepfelchammer was indeed packed this time with both rooms full although we did find room in the Gaststübe where we shared a table with other patrons.

This time we took mains only - I settled for the traditional "Kalbfleisch Geschnetzeltes" (Sliced veal "Zurich style" with a cream mushroom sauce) which is a popular dish local to the Zürich region. Frankly, Zur Oepfelchammer does an excellent Geschnetzeltes which I have no hesitation in recomending. Nor can I help but recomend the white wines from Stäfa which are also on offer.

Of course, a couple of attempts were made to climb the rafters.

Zur Oepfelchammer has, I have decided, grown on me and I think I shall be returning.
