Waedi-Brau Huus, Wädenswil

Review date: 13 October 2007

We popped into the Wadi-Brau this evening whilst changing trains between Einsiedeln and Zürich as it's a short walk from the train station.

As is customary, I took the Dunkle which is a most splendid dark beer. For yummy food, I elected the Schitzel. Large. L. A. R. G. E. Indeed, a full plate full. The Schnitzel, which on initial inspection might not be able to tell, does actually come with chips. They're underneath the Schnitzel which spills over the edges of the plate. To be quite honest, I've never left the Wadi-Brau hungry and this visit would not be an exception.

Service was excellent. Smiley. Polite. Quick. Hospitable. Just plain straight-forward great pub-service.

Sadly, I don't get the Wadi-Brau as much as I used to on account of the fact I don't have much to do down that side of the lake any more, which is a great shame as the Wadi-Brau is a fantastic brew-pub. All it's selection of beers (which includes an Weissen, a Pilsner, a Helles and a Dunkle) are excellent and, generally, only available in the Wadi-Brau itself or in some of the more speciality shops. Furthermore, it's actually a proper pub. It's got solid wooden chairs and tables to accompany the stools around the bar in the older factory part and a more modern stuff in the conservatory.
