Parish Church of St Oswald and St Cassian

It is thought that a church has stood on the current site of the Parish Church of St Oswald and St Cassian since the 6th century. The current tower dates from the Romanesque and Gothic periods. The Baroque building was constructed between 1706 and 1711. The altars, pilasters and pulpit are all worthy of note. The altar, in my opinion, is quite impressive for a "provincial" church. The pulpit is made from "Sargans Marble" which is a black and white limestone which has been processed and smoothed to give a marble like effect and was extracted from the Vild Quarry. The Marble from the tabernacle comes from the Southern Alps.
