Rathaus Brauerei, Lucerne
Review date: 13 June 2007
We popped into the Rathaus in Lucerne today for lunch. The Rathaus doubles up as a brew-restaurant/brew-pub.
The Rathaus overlooks the Ruess river running through central Lucerne and affords views of the Kappelbrucke and the Jesuit Church.
The Rathaus Brauerei offers a selection of it's own beers including a Bio-based beer and a Weisse-style beer. The beers are excellent and the Rathaus is worth a visit for these alone.
Service is also robust, efficient and contains just modicum of friendliness.
The Rathaus offers a line in typically-German-style cuisine albeit in a more-touristic style than would be customary in alternative locality. I can't really fault the food in that I'm sure that it matchs it's clients expectations.
I'm sure that there are better places to eat in Lucerne and I hope to find them. But I will return to sample their beer further.
