Where to stay in Rome
Hotel Raphael
We often weekend in Rome and, if travelling as a couple, often stay at the Hotel Raphael (Largo Febo) to make the most of the limited time available to us. Being only meters from Piazza Navona, the Raphael is perfectly located. We've always found the reception staff to be efficient and helpful. The restaurant is excellent and the waiting staff have always been more than helpful and efficient. The roof-top terrace is an excellent place for a cup of coffee, lunch or dinner as it commands views over the Roman rooftops and the view stretchs to St Peters, the Pantheon and Vittoriano.
Borgo Pio Apartments
During our last visit to Rome, we travelled as a group of four. After a little bit of searching, we found the Borgo Pio 2000 apartments at Piazza delle Vaschette n 13. We selected the Borgo Pio on the basis of reviews from some of the major travel sites and weren't disappointed. We selected one of the larger apartments which was comprised of two bedrooms and a living room (which could double up as a third bedroom) and was capable of sleeping 5 easily and 6 at a push. The apartment was more than capable of sleeping the four of us and within easy reach of the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angello. The Centro Storic is a a short walk away accross the Pont Sant'Angello.
