The Slug and Lettuce, Clapham Junction

Review date: 26 May 2006

Yeah ok, so I should know about The Slug and Lettuce chain of pubs having lived in the UK for some years previously.

This solitary visit confirmed my fears that nothing much had changed. It's just a bunch of chavs sitting around talking very loud in an effort to be heard over the even louder music. Getting served was damn near impossible unless you were being squashed between the ruck that had formed around the centre of the bar and the bar itself. If, on the other hand, you valued your life you waited for a long time at the end of the bar until one of the not-very-bright bar staff came over to use the cash till.

Broad range of uninteresting lagers on offer so settled for a Guiness and Coke which weren't exactly cheap - even by alledgedly-expensive Zürich standards.

Left after one pint on account of this pub being generally cr*p.
