Alexandra, Wimbledon
Review date: 23rd July 2007
We popped into The Alexandra, a Youngs pub, for a solitary pint on our way back home from the Cricket at Lords. It's been a few years since I've been into The Alex for a drink. They've opened it up a bit since then but it still retains an almost overpowering sense of being in need of a good lick of paint.
Youngs selection of Waggeldance, Ordinary Bitter, Special and Charles Wells Bombadier in addition to a standard selection of lagers and Guinness is on offer. The Bombadier seemed to be well-kept.
Service was ok.
Looks like the Alex is still wallowing in it's own mediocrity living off location and little else.
Disappointing really as Youngs should be able to do a whole lot better.
