La Piazza

1st August 2006

La Piazza has changed quite a lot since Mark was here last a few years back. Now an Italian restaurant, La Piazza's terrace commands views of the Münster.

The duck in the congac sauce was lovely as was the Butterreis. The Spagethi Mare was a more than ample portion with many shrimps begging to be shelled. The Straussteakfilet (Ostrich) was done medium rare, just the way it should be. In each case the veggies were done just right - slightly underdone. What was disappointing was the pizza - which could have been made at home by any old incomptent, Mark included.

The one critism of La Piazza Mark has is the service. Simply awful. It was nearly impossible to get the attention of the staff - they even needed to be reminded twice to bring the bill. Then the waiter had the impertinence to tut and tap his foot impatiently while Mark took the cash from his wallet.
